This is one of my favorite sculpture of all time. One day a woman stepped inside my studio and pointed at "the wind beneath my wings" sculpture that I once made. She said, "I have had a rough time the past month" later she described a horrifying time filled with loss and sickness. Then she ended up saying, " When I look at your sculpture I feel hope, it draws my mind to our eternal hope in heaven. Nowadays I mostly spend my time in bed and I want something like this to hang over it". Tears went down my cheek. I made, Lift me up. And I prayed to God it would help her.

I made this sculpture to a friend who was pregnant. She wanted a reminder of her pregnancy. So I made this woman who is bearing a child. I think there is something very calm and secure about her, which suits my friend perfectly!

This sculpture is a celebration to all a women out there. By highlighting this pice you can create interesting shadows.

Very often life is a struggle, a fight. For who you are, what you believe in. This sculpture illustrates that inner fight for freedom. Never give up. Freedom is yours to have.

I tried to capture the innocence and fragile state of any man and woman with this sculpture. Life may have turned us a bit, and some wounds may still hurt. But we are still standing strong.
