Case
BW Princess Hotel required unique ceiling decorations for their guest rooms to enhance the visual experience and create a soft, inviting atmosphere.
PMI, represented by interior designer team in Örnsköldsvik, commissioned a series of bespoke mesh installations designed to complement the existing lighting while adding an artistic focal point in each room.
The project scope included 7 guest rooms, each featuring cloud-like mesh formations suspended beneath the Piatto pendant lamp.
What we did
Each mesh formation was handcrafted from brass mesh, woven at Forsberg’s Metal Mesh Factory in Småland. The designs varied in size:
- Diameter: 70-80 cm
- Depth: 30–50 cm
The mesh pieces were shaped individually by hand, ensuring every lamp and formation was unique.
They were suspended from the ceiling using thin steel wires with cork fittings, and brass hooks marked the attachment points for easy installation. Detailed templates were provided for each lamp to guide precise placement.
The installation was designed to be practical as well as visually appealing, allowing hotel staff to remove the mesh for cleaning while maintaining the overall aesthetic of the room.
The outcome
The completed installation added a dynamic, flowing visual element to each room, creating a sense of movement and imagination.
The cloud-like brass formations harmonized with the existing lighting and furniture, providing guests with a soft, elegant atmosphere.
